CALI | ADOPTED BASSET-BEAGLE (BAGLE)

Buckeye Basset Hound Rescue has had another Foster Failure. Cali's adoption makes the second Foster Failure reported to BBHR - that's right folks! Laurel had agreed to foster Cali with the hopes that she would get along with her other dog. As it turned out, the two dogs became instant friends. Laurel explained that she knew early that they were going to adopt Cali.  Laurel said,  "I think by the first night we knew we were going to keep her. She just sorta chose us. We recently lost a dog and we feel like he sent Cali to us!" 

Cali the sweet little basset hound - beagle mix, also known as a Bagle, was officially adopted by Laurel and her family. Laurel shared some pictures with our Facebook Group and reported, "This family is quite smitten with Cali" on her first night at her new home.

Cali has adjusted well to her new home. Laurel said that Cali enjoys going for walks everyday and playing with all her toys. Laurel explained Cali's fondness for toys by saying, "Cali loves playing with her toys. I'm not sure she had a home with toys and love."

There are some folks that treasure the full-breed basset hound, yet there are many others that embrace basset mixes. When asked about the merits of the Bagle variety, Laurel said, "This mix, [basset hound and beagle] is so smart and well behaved. I think they are easier to house train because they don't sleep as much as a regular basset. Since they don't sleep as much that have that spark of a beagle in them." 

Laurel and her family have another Bagel named Wallace. Laurel reported, "She loves playing with her new friend Wally. When they go for walks, they have a good time sniffing all the scents. Boy, does she sniff!!! She always has her cute little nose to the ground."  Laurel described the differences between the two scent hounds by saying, "Wally is more basset, whereas Cali is more beagle." The two instantly "hit it off" - BFFs for sure!
